A collaboration research project currently undertaking by Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) and research team from Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya. This research is aimed at developing a framework for Malaysian Facilities Management focusing on four (4) areas, namely: (1) Performance Measurement, (2) Procurement Strategy, (3) Human Capacity Building and (4) Leveraging ICT in Facilities Management.

Strategic Collaboration on FM with BIFM UK
A meeting with British Institute of FM (BIFM) was held at Faculty of Built Environment Univ Malaya on 20th June 2013. BIFM was presented by Mr Gareth Tancred, CEO of BIFM. Senior officer from UKAS JPM, MAFM, CREAM and UM attended the discussion. The meeting concluded to have strategic partnership in terms of training and accreditation, establish Centre of Excellence in FM, to facilitate FM industries in Malaysia to the greater height as what has been achieved in UK and Europe.

Courtesy call by Chairman of BIFM UK Ms Ismena Clout
A courtesy call has been made by the Chairman of British Institute of FM (BIFM) UK, Ms Ismena Clout to Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) recently. BIFM is the second largest FM institution in the world. The visit is part of her trip to Malaysian and other countries. Among the points of discussion is to seek for any collaboration relating to FM in PPP/PFI. Other officers attended the discussion are Mr Massuan Ahamad, a consultant and expert officer of PPP Unit (UKAS) Prime Minister Office (PMO) and lecturer from University Malaya. All parties had agreeable to work in collaborative for mutual benefits in particular of FM areas.
